Eastwood City Walk of Fame, the country’s counterpart to Hollywood Walk of Fame held its 15th Induction Ceremony at Eastwood Central Plaza last December 1.
It also coincides with their 10th year anniversary, ten years since German Moreno thought of honoring and immortalizing our Filipino Artists.
Several stars; including the Kalyerserye bunch made up of Alden Richards, Maine Mendoza, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola and Paolo Ballesteros were honored that day and also led the unveiling of their own stars.
Alden Richards was conspicuously absent during the induction because of health concerns but his absence did not diminish the fact that many fans almost mobbed the group when they were sighted and called.
But is it true that some celebrities felt left out when fans fawned over Maine Mendoza, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola and Paolo Ballesteros? Some fans even commented that the organizers should just have other ceremony exclusive only for the Kalyeserye Gang because it was obvious that the fans and spectators concentrated only with the four artists and the other inductees were left out and ignored.
Maine got the loudest cheer of them all every time her name was mentioned. One of the best parts of the event is Maine Mnedoza’s expression upon unveiling her own star at the Walk of Fame.
The Eastwood City Walk of Fame has been controversial in the past and still is as they induct artists based on their popularity and fame and not on contribution to the industry.
