In the Philippines, countdowns to the holidays begin as early as the first day of September.
Christmas songs also start dominating radio airwaves and kids are bound to the streets to roundup houses and public vehicles to do carolings. While that is true, the yuletide vibe almost only gets really strong when TV networks release their station I.D.’s.
GMA Network has not been as grand and ambitious, production wise, but it is worth-noting that they have been putting their best efforts in coming up with meaningful station ID’s.
Their theme this year, ‘MaGMAhalan Tayo Ngayong Pasko’, urges Filipinos to love one another, this Christmas, putting emphasis on how christmas become the most important time of the year, to show love and affection to those who are closest to us.

GMA Network’s #MaGMAhalanTayoNgayongPasko: Central to its theme, giving love this Christmas, is GMA Network’s Christmas station ID, most striking message.
Yeah, there surely is a message, but it is hard to fully appreciate it when whatever happening on the video barely gets in synch with the song’s generic message. And so, the song just ends up having a sentiment that is barely gotten across.
The gestures of the actors put in every frame hardly complement the beat nor lyrics of the song, and it also doesn’t help that it seems the makers of the video aren’t exactly sure which stars to place into the spotlight, with some artists only having half-a-second exposure that you can not possibly identify them—that is aside the fact that they needed nametags, in the first place.
The music video consistently stumbles upon pacing and shifting problems, that in the end it seems the actors are only put up together in one frame so they could claim exposure.
But the biggest problem, I think, is that while the video is obviously trying to share a message, there is no solid story to support it, nor slides to represent the full intent of the song.
