Julie Anne San Jose proved once again that she’s one of the country’s most popular singers nowadays. Just a few hours after her new extended play album “Forever” was made available via pre-order at iTunes, it shot up to the top of iTunes PH Albums chart.
“Forever” overtook “Made in the A.M.” by One Direction and “Purpose” by Justin Bieber. It even managed to beat the best-selling album “25” by British singer-songwriter Adele.
Having a best selling album is not really something new for Julie Anne. She is one of the few recording artists in the Philippines who had achieved a Diamond Record award for her self-titled album “Julie Anne San Jose” released under GMA Records in 2012. A diamond record means 10x platinum, can you imagine that? Only artists like Jose Marie Chan, Freddie Aguilar, and Eraserheads have achieved the same feat.
Her second album , “Deeper” in 2014 also got a double platinum award while her single “I’ll Be There” was certified 4x platinum. With the initial response to “Forever” EP, it seems the album will either be Gold or Platinum in the next few weeks.
“Forever” EP contains 4 tracks namely, “Tidal Wave”, “Tidal Wave Remix”, “Not Impressed” and “Forever”. The songs cater to various genres. So, whether you’re into hip-hop, pop, or R&B, you will appreciate the Forever EP.
Julie Anne released a series of pictures of her Instagram account captioned simply with “#believeinforever” prior to the pre-order announcement on iTunes. Fans thought the caption was about her personal love life. No one had a clue it was about a new album. Now that they know the “Forever” EP, her fans are all excited about it.
The pre-selling of the “Forever” EP will run from November 3 to 7. It will be released in digital format on November 8.
