One of the most successful fantasy television series, “Encantadia”, will finally have its remake. It isn’t a rumor anymore. GMA Network itself announced that in 2016, they will be working on the most-awaited remake of “Encantadia”.
“Encantadia” was aired in 2005. It was recognized not only in the Philippines but abroad also. Gawad Amerika Awards even gave it the 2005 Teleserye of the Year award. And until now, people still talk about it. That is how classic the fantaserye has become.
And now that the remake will soon be in the works, some fans are curious who will take the parts of its main characters. Currently, some of the main characters transferred to ABS-CBN. So, that alone will make you think that “Encantadia” won’t be played by the same actors again. We all know that normally in a remake, the production hires a whole new cast.
One of the most memorable characters in “Encantadia” is Amihan, which was successfully played by Iza Calzado. When asked who she thinks will give justice to the role of Amihan, she uttered two important names and they were Jennylyn Mercado and Carla Abellana. She added that it’s really up to the management whoever they think will fit the role.
If you remember, Jennylyn Mercado used to play the role of Lira in “Encantadia”. So, for some fans, they find it odd that Jennylyn is even considered for the Amihan role. We don’t really know for sure yet, who will end up to be the next Amihan, but Jennylyn is a great actress. We know that whatever opportunity comes to her, she’ll be able to handle it. Even as being the next Amihan in GMA Network’s “Encatadia”.
