As expected, the sequel to the 2007 cult hit movie “One More Chance” earned an impressive ₱43.3M on its opening day on Wednesday (November 25), the biggest opening of any film from the production outfit this year. The opening day gross of “A Second Chance” vanquished the P32 million 2015 record set by the romantic comedy “Crazy Beautiful You,” played by Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo.
The sequel comes eight years after Popoy (John Lloyd Cruz) and Basha (Bea Alonzo) broke everybody’s hearts in the cryfest “One More Chance,” which also inspired a book that was released this year.
Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and written by Carmi Raymundo, “A Second Chance” also stars Dimples Romana, James Blanco, Bea Saw, Janus del Prado and Ahron Villena.
The film is now showing in more than 250 cinemas nationwide.
