Before “AlDub” became a household name, a Wazak Love story under the direction of Rico Gutierrez was introduced in now-defunct “Party Pilipinas”.
Julie Anne San Jose and Elmo Magalona topbilled the rap musical. It’s based on William Shakespeare’s “Romeo & Juliet” that highlighted the OPM songs of our very own iconic rappers– the late Francis Magalona, Gloc-9 and Andrew E.
This special segment was divided into three acts aired in three Sundays. The setting was situated in Barangay Varano, where different groups of gangsters live and often involve in gang wars. The story revolved around Julie and Elmo’s love for each other but their families weren’t in favor of them to be together which led to the tragic scene of ending their lives.
On its final act,the director did not disappoint the viewers when JuliElmo, who were holding their hands together, came on stage and proved there’s forever in love. They may not be able to share their love while still alive but their time to be together was destined to spend eternally.
Also, part of the cast were Kris Lawrence, Artsrong, Nyko Maca, Radha and Jay Perillo.
