How true it is that there was a conspiracy on the alleged “second-hand” gown used by Maine Mendoza last Saturday?
The controversial gown has been circulating the social media like wild fire and since the issue has already been clarified by the designer itself, some netizens can’t stop in spreading negative rumors about it.
The bad thing about it is, they are keeping dragging names associated with the event. And the latest victim is the celebrity stylist Liz Uy.
She is very popular in styling bankable stars like Anne Curtis, Kris Aquino, Bea Alonzo, Heart Evangelista and Sarah Geronimo. In other words, Uy is successful in her own ways. In fact, she owns the prominent StyLIZed Studio.
The recent addition to her famous clients is the Philippines Dubsmash Queen Maine Mendoza, also known as Yaya Dub. At “Eat Bulaga’s” Tamang Panahon concert for a cause last Saturday, Uy chose to have one of the gowns from Francis Libiran Spring/Summer 2015 collection in Maine. Since the gown is perfect for the theme of the event, TAPE Inc. and Eat Bulaga bought the gown for the social media phenomenon Maine Mendoza.
Eventually, netizens are spreading rumors about a possible gown conspiracy of Liz Uy and Vice Ganda (close friend from the rival show of Eat Bulaga) because according to them, the gown was recycled. It was previously worn by Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu. Rumor has it that Uy did this on purpose to make Maine looks like a second best for the gown.
Francis Libiran already released a statement via Instagram that the gown wasn’t worn yet in any event. It was only used by Kim Chiu to showcase the gown during the launch of his collection. It just happened so that the model who walked the gown on the ramp was from a rival network.
There is no conspiracy going on. Besides, who would not want a gown that can transform you into a beautiful princess? Regardless of who first worn it, the winner here is the designer, agree?
