One of the country’s premier hosts, Joey De Leon celebrates his birthday today, October 14.
Can you believe he’s 69 years old? Born Jose Maria Ramos de Leon, Jr., Joey started out as a radio announcer back in the 1960’s. He became part of the TVJ trio in the mid-1970s and was with Eat Bulaga since it started in 1979.
Joey’s showbiz career spans around five decades, During that time, people have come to love or hate him, depending on whose side of the fence you are. Be that as it may, here’s our list of the top 5 things to love about @AngPoetNyo:
1. He is a brilliant songwriter and lyricist his songs are considered classics.
Do you know that he wrote “Ipagpatawad Mo”, “Awitin Mo, Isasayaw Ko”, “Boyrfriend Kong Baduy” and “Ikaw ang Aking Mahal” and many more? He also penned top novelty songs ” Itaktak Mo” and “Kagat Labi Song”.
2. He is a real poet at heart.
