We get LSS (last song syndrome), and some even shed a tear, when they first heard the song “See You Again” in the movie “Furious 7.” The song has reached No. 1 in over 90 countries across the globe including the US, with the coveted No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100. He easily gets recognized by his music leading him to release his self-produced debut single “Marvin Gaye” with his duet partner Meghan Trainor.
“Marvin Gaye” is actually the first song he wrote when he arrived in California for a writing trip after signing his publishing deal. On his second day, he wrote “See You Again” with DJ Frank E. He finds it so magical that his heart-rending song will be the closing montage of late Paul Walker and his character Brian O’Connor in Furious 7.
“I’ve always been a fan of the franchise and was honored to have the opportunity to take a turn at writing Paul’s tribute song. I lost a close friend of mind in a similar way and was able to tap into the emotion of losing someone but still having hope. Seeing everyone’s reaction to the song has been unreal,” Charlie said.
And now, to share more of his music and song writing experiences, Charlie Puth came in Manila to personally promote his debut album “Nine Track Mind.”
Last October 2, 2015, Charlie meets up with Philippine media in EDSA Shangri-La Hotel. Let’s see what are the five interesting facts about Charlie Puth:
1. He wants to have a collaboration with Half-Filipino Bruno Mars since they are under the same label and he adores how he make the music.
2. He would date a fan. He finds a low-key bossy woman attractive. Charlie admitted that he is still indecisive in little things.
3. He spends as much time as he can in social media and let the fans feel they are appreciated.
4. If he is not the Charlie Puth that we know now, he would be the Charles as his dad wants him to be. Like to build a house. (He hates Mathematics, though)
5. Would love to try ‘Balut’ and ‘Pork Sinigang’, as they are the most recommended Filipino dish.
Charlie has been successful in his own way but, this American singer-song writer is making sure that he keeps his feet grounded. He treats his friends the same way because he wanted to be remembered as the humble guy. Success also took seven 97) years to Charlie before it materializes. From that, he advises people to just do what they know how to do because if you will be true to yourself, people will easily recognize you. That would be a good start to be successful.
His anticipated album “Nine Track Mind” will be released on January 22, 2016 under Atlantic Records. Digital download is available on November 6, 2015. The twelve (12) tracks you will be looking forward too are: One Call Away, As You Are (feat. Shy Carter), Marvin Gaye (feat. Meghan Trainor), My Gospel, Know Your Name, Losing My Mind, Up All Night, Left Right Left, Then There’s You, Suffer, Hard, and Some Type of Love.
