The team of Anne Curtis, Kim Atienza and Eric Tai (Eruption) showed off their agility and physical fitness in a production number for the Magpasikat portion of It’s Showtime today. The number was a combination of sci-fi and action, with a very meaningful message about climate change.
The presentation started with Anne and Eruption watching the video clips of the devastating effects of climate change.Then they proceeded to exercise and dance using treadmills.Suddenly, a voice comes onscreen instructing Anne and Eruption to act as Ninja warriors to save the world from destruction. Their mission is to get an important message which will be the key to stop the destruction brought by Ku-Lim-Lim (Kuya Kim).
As Anne and Eruption gets offstage, Ku-Lim-Lim emerges from a door on the audience side,in a black costume. He tells people that he is the reason why the earth is getting hotter. This global warming causes stronger typhoons. He then enumerates the causes of global warming, which he likes very much.
Anne gets back as Ninja Yosah and Eruption as Ninja Yant. They fight off the cohorts of Ku-Lim-Lim and defeats his evil plan to destroy the world. Anne Curtis was very impressive during the whole routine, showing her upper body strength on bars and wall climbing stunts.
The message turned out to be a video clip of a child representing the future generation. She is asking people to “Save the world, while you still can…Start now.”
Kuya Kim then gives a touching message about change and each one’s responsibility in saving our planet. He said, that to symbolize a new beginning, he has made a personal decision.
What happened next left the audience and judges dumbfounded. Kuya Kim allowed his hair to be shaved off! That left quite an impact on both the studio audience and the panel of judges.
Marc Logan said it was no small act for Kim to shave his head, because he knows Kuya Kim loves his hair. Amy Perez pointed out that the production number was a lot of fun. She added that she got emotional while Kim’s hair was being shaved because it sent a very powerful message.
Bobot Mortiz and Tirso Cruz III were also very much impressed. Direk Bobot said it is becoming more difficult to judge Magpasikat because all the production numbers had moral lessons and are skillfully presented.
Bangky and Lilia Cuntapay were visibly touched and described the performance as “so terrific”. Bangky said that Anne Curtis grew up to be a “woman of substance”. Lilia described Kuya Kim an inspirational model not only to adults but also to the youth.

So far, four teams have shown brilliant and meaningful production numbers on Magpasikat. We can’t wait what sweethearts Billy Joe Crawford and Coleen Garcia has in store for us tomorrow. Can the duo top them all? Let’s wait and see.
