In a recent survey conducted by Standard Poll, it measured the residents’ awareness of the two biggest rival segments in two noontime shows, Kalyeserye and Nasaan Ka Mr. Pastillas? of “Eat Bulaga” and “It’s Showtime!”
Based on data gathered from September 21 to October 1 of Standard pollster Junie Laylo, 86 percent among NCR residents said that they are aware of KalyeSerye segment of the hit loveteam of actor Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, also known as Yaya Dub, while thirty-six percent of them know about Pastillas Girl.
In other regions of the country, particularly in Northern and Southern part of Luzon, AlDub got 64% and 65% respectively. On the other hand, Ms. Pastillas remained inferior with only 38% of Northern and 40 percent residents in Southern Luzon.
A total of 18 percent difference in terms of nationwide awareness between two segments was recorded, where AlDub registered 57 percent.
In terms of popularity, Aldub gained 73 percent among urban dwellers, 71 percent among ABC socio-economic classes and 65% among 18-34 years old age range.
Meanwhile, thirty-one percent of 1,500 respondents in 76 provinces in the country are aware of the developing story of AlDub versus Pastillas Girl’s 22 percent.
The much-anticipated event of KalyeSerye segment, dubbed as “Sa Tamang Panahon”,will be held on October 24 at the Philippine Arena while Mr. Pastillas search ended last Saturday, October 17, when Pastillas Girl Angelica Yap chose Richard “Chard” Parojinog over other suitors.
