At the start of Eat Bulaga’s “Sa Tamang Panahon”, Lola Nidora announced that they have raised P14M through ticket sales from the event.
The total amount of the proceeds will go to the AlDub Library project which was announced by Wally Bayola a.k.a. Lola Nidora on October 17 at Kalyeserye. The project aims to put up AlDub libraries in different schools nationwide.
During the event, Lola Nidora hinted that some of those funds might also go to victims of Typhoon Lando. She said the AlDubarkads should not also forget people who were affected by the typhoon, especially those in Northern Luzon.
Focusing on school libraries is a project that conforms to Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye series. It is especially aligned with the character of Lola Nidora, who is known for imparting nuggets of wisdom on love, values, education, and other aspects of life.
The fandom of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza have been breaking records on Twitter with AlDub hashtags in the past months. AlDub fans have also pushed album sales of Alden Richards to the top of various album charts.
A lot of people have accused AlDub fans for being shallow because of their addiction to the AlDub love team in Kalyeserye. But members of the AlDub nation have expressed that they have long wanted to put their unity to something that is useful and tangible.
Thus, when the AlDub Library project was announced by Lola Nidora on Kalyeserye, they were more than happy to pitch in.
The AlDub Library project is in fact, the second major project wherein members of the AlDub nation have been encouraged to participate. The AlDub nation had a blood donation drive a week earlier, in cooperation with the Philippine Red Cross, on October 11, 2015.
With the AlDub libraries in selected schools, the AlDub nation will leave a lasting legacy to schools and students throughout the country.
“Sa Tamang Panahon” was held at the Philippine Arena on October 24, where 55,000 people were in attendance. The tickets, which were priced at P1200, P600, P350 and P150, were sold out 3 days after the event was announced at Eat Bulaga.
