Eat Bulaga began its Halloween special with an opening dance number from Patty “Push” costumed as Maleficent. She looked elegant and scary at the same time, just like Angelina Jolie.
This was followed by a graveyard scene, and in a few minutes, Alden Richards was shown in a Edward Cullen-inspired costume. Alden was made up to look paler than usual, to approximate the beloved vampire lead character of the Twilight series.
Then one by one, the Eat Bulaga hosts came out in their Halloween costumes.
The best costumes aside from “Maleficent” of Patty Push were those of Ryan Agoncillo, whose costume is that of a baby in a crib. How did he manage to get into that crib?
Julia Clarete looked beautiful as Princess Leia in her all-white costume while Anjo Yllana had impressive green make-up as Incredible Hulk.
But the most awaited portion of the show though, was Alden Richards and Yaya Dub’s reunion when they go the house of the Explorer sisters’ grandmother.
Alden joined Yaya Dub, Lola Nidora, Tidora and Tinidora in the search for the jewelry box.
Yaya Dub was costumed as Bella Swan, the partner of Edward Cullen in Twilight. The Lolas were made to look like witches.
From the outside, the house really looked old and haunted. Once inside, the Lolas and AlDub had a lot of scary experiences. It was during this portion that a lot of sweet moments were shared by Alden Richards and Yaya Dub.
The haunted house was full of scary objects and frightening sounds. Suddenly, the other half of the screen went pitch black. But the conversation among the cast can be heard. When the lights came back on, Alden Richards was tightly hugging Yaya Dub, who looked very scared.
That hug was a lot closer than what happened at the concert “Sa Tamang Panahon”. And of course, the fans at Eat Bulaga’s studio were shrieking and shouting because of this.
Lola Nidora reprimanded them, and both Yaya Dub and Alden Richards apologized for their action.
In many instances, Alden and Yaya Dub did their dubsmash while inside the house. They were very sweet, touching each other’s face, looking into each others’ eyes. Sigh…
The audience thought that the hug that happened inside the haunted house was the highest point of episode, but the writers had more in store for the AlDub fans.
After getting the jewelry box from the house, the Kalyeserye cast were kind of having a conversation outside. Then Lola Nidora asked Alden to open the jewelry box.
In it was a letter which Lola Nidora instructed Alden to read. The message was something about a true love and a forever. There was an instruction to give the ring to remind that special someone that there is true love and that it will grow stronger with every trial.
Then, Alden accidentally dropped the ring. Upon getting it from the ground, he knelt on one knee and was poised to give Yaya Dub the ring. But, the episode ended there. Yaya Dub wasn’t even able to wear the ring!
Can you imagine the pandemonium that scene caused at the studio? Fans were screaming at the top of their lungs.
We’re sure that despite the busy schedules of everyone for All Souls’ day, they found time to watch Eat Bulaga’s Halloween Special. It was such a treat!
