The hashtag #ALDUB have seen by the people online as Twitter’s top trending topic for the last months. We all know, especially Filipinos, that the hashtags are pertaining to the onscreen love team Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards.
In fact, according to online news “Morning News USA”, their onscreen romance is comparable to that “Crazy, Stupid, Love” starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. The only difference is that Maine and Alden are still on the making of their first movie “My Bebe Love”, and there are currently doing segments in one of the Philippines’ noontime show “Eat Bulaga.”
Morever, it is reported that AlDub was already named as global phenomenon by Twitter Asia Pacific and Middle East Vice President, Rishi Jaitly. And also, based on the news from Rappler, the love team gained record-breaking hashtag #AlDubEBforLove which has 26 million tweets last September 26, 2015.

In addition with the Rappler news, Jaitly noted that this hashtag just break the record global tweets of Super Bowl XLIX last February 2015. Jaitly also told Rappler that the AlDub tweets in September surpassed the tweets of the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards and Kanye West’s announcement for presidency in 2020 during MTV.
“This is such a global phenomenon, as I said, that we had to look internally to make sure that these tweet volumes were in fact authentic. But this is real, this is not a sideshow, this is real media being creative,” as Jaitly told Rappler news
As you can see, Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards is indeed a great onscreen couple loved by millions of Filipinos and got the attention of people all over the globe!
