On September 27, 2015 in “ASAP” both Mark and Kris have appeared on the noon time show of ABS-CBN every Sunday. They were able to enjoy singing with other ASAP Champions such as: Frenchie Dy, Sheryn Regis, Yeng Constantino, Jed Madela and Erik Santos; they have sung Barbra Streisands’ ‘The Way We Were’ and ‘It’s All Coming Back to Me Now’ of Celine Dion.
Originally, Mark has been Kapuso since 2003 when he won in IBC 13’s “Star for a Night” as the 1st runner-up and then he started to receive projects from GMA Network until he decided to transfer to ABS-CBN for more projects; one of the projects he received is to be a regular performer in ASAP and he became the main host of “Search for the Star in a Million” for Season 1 and 2.
His last project to ABS-CBN is to be part of a prime time show “May Bukas Pa” that actually run for 1 year, he was then dubbed as “Pop Heartthrob” after his first ever solo major concert held at Aliw Theater. In 2010, Mark signed a three-year exclusive contract with GMA Network from 2010 until 2015.
Meanwhile, Kris Lawrence is originally from ABS-CBN, where he won in ABS-CBN’s “Search for the Star in a Million” and became part of “ASAP”. His first move after winning the singing contest was to move to ABS-CBN’s rival which is GMA Network and started showing his singing talent to GMA’s “Party Pilipinas” and “Diva”. He is now starting to appear at “It’s Showtime” this year.
These two singers have been part of GMA’s “Sunday All Stars”; an afternoon musical variety show replacement for “Party Pilipinas” hosted by long time friends in real life Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Jaya.
Is this a sign that these two singers are now back to ABS-CBN’s arms for good? Let us see for the coming weeks if they will be in “ASAP” again.
