When the press comment that the talent manager-TV host, Lolit Solis is not so excited for her new show “CelebriTV,” she promptly answered, “not really, it’s just that “Startalk” had a different impact on me than CelebriTV.”
The entertainment comedy magazine show “CelebriTV” will air soon on GMA as a replacement for the longest-running weekly entertainment talk show “Startalk” which bid farewell last week.
In a report of PEP, the 68-year old host seemed questioning if “CelebriTV” will be able to surpass the “Startalk”. “I’m not thinking negatively or whatever, but [do you] think this kind of show will last for 20 years? In a talk show, every week [there are latest happenings], every month [there’s something new to offer] that’s why it survives, right?”
But Solis changed her tune, “But maybe the [management] would like to try comedy.”
Solis, who stayed the longest in now defunct show, eased with relief that she’s part of the new entertainment show. She confessed that she already knew beforehand that “Startalk” was about to end.
“I knew it a month ago, [last] August. The time Aiai held a presscon and admitted that she’ll going to have a talk show, I knew it.”
She will be joined by “Startalk” hosts Joey de Leon and Ricky Lo, together with comedy queen Aiai delas Alas. Unfortunately, not all “Startalk”cast members will be part of the gang just like Heart Evangelista and Butch Francisco, who stayed in the show for 16 years.
When she asked how Butch accepted the news, “He’s affected. I know, he is.”
“But oh, I said that I was irritated at him. You know Butch, he’s pretentious. Butch is rich. And he can always go back to writing, he’s still young.”
Watch out for “CelebriTV” as it premieres this coming Saturday, September 19, 4pm.
