Jhong Hilario was a former member of Streetboys, who was discovered as back-up dancer in noontime show “Eat Bulaga.”
As Jhong flourishes his career, he was chosen to be one of the regular hosts, together with Vhong Navarro (a Streetboys member as well), of ABS-CBN’s noontime show, “It’s Showtime.”
According to Jhong, he is honored to have been part of “Eat Bulaga’s” back-up dancer, and he is very thankful for the memories and experiences that he gained from “Eat Bulaga.” For him this experiences eventually gave him great contribution, now that he is part of “It’s Showtime” as a host.
“Actually ako, nanggaling ako sa Eat Bulaga. Streetboys pa lang, galing na ako sa Eat Bulaga. Iba talaga yung samahan nila kaya nga sila tumagal ng 36 years, di ba?”, Jhong said.
He also added, “Kumbaga, yung feeling na dati ako doon, tapos ngayon, yung naabot ko, nakatapat ko na ngayon ang Eat Bulaga sa Showtime, at naging host na rin ako. Kahit siguro sinong artista, naging pangarap yun, e. Ngayon, nakamit ko na yun.”
Morever, due to AlDub (Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza) phenomenon of Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye, Jhong Hilario was chosen to be asked on how he felt about its popularity.
He answered, “Mas maganda talaga na may rivalry, actually. Kapag wala, pagsasawaan ka ng tao. Kung ikaw lagi yung number one, pagsasawaan ka ng tao. Ang competition, mas exciting ‘yan, e.”
Jhong also pointed out that AlDub and Eat Bulaga’s feat is justifiable since everyone in the noontime show has a goal and that is to make their TV viewers happy and entertained (“Deserve nila yun, kasi ang aim naman nila ay makapagpasaya ng tao.”)
