“We’re not contract artists, we’re not exclusive artists… sa hierarchy ng mga artista, medyo kami ang nadi-displace kapag may mga ganitong issues.” (We’re not contract artists, we’re not exclusive artists… in the artists hierarchy, we are the first one to displaced when this kind of issue arises.)
These are the words of Aiza Seguerra during an interview by Pep.ph during a press conference.
During the said press con, Aiza revealed that she has been given a notice by the “ASAP 20” management, that she has to take on leave, right after their “ASAP 20 live in London”.
Aiza has been a mainstay on the said musical variety show for quite a long time appearing regularly on its segment, “ASAP Sessionitas”. Although quite unclear, the singer-actress hunches on her being a part of the upcoming show “The Ryzza Mae Show Presents… Princess In The Palace”, which is to be aired on a rival network GMA 7.
With the said revelation, Aiza has clarified that, she is not an exclusive contract artist of Abs-Cbn, and that, she may take projects from different networks respectively.
The said show is a co-production by TAPE at APT Entertainment, featuring on the lead role is the child star na si Ryzza Mae Dizon starting September 21 (Monday).
When Aiza was asked on her opinion regarding her suspension, she pointed-out that, there are no conflict or competition as to compare the 2 shows that she is working on with, given that the shows are totally in different genres, time-slot and days of airing. Although she added, she is aware that there are still a network thing happening. “After all, this is a business, they have to protect their business.” she added.
She also cited on a statement that “especially I think, with the ALDUB issue, medyo fierce ngayon (especially I think, with the ALDUB issue, it’s a bit fierce at the moment). So I think they are just protecting themselves, and they don’t want other artists to do the same thing.”
But on the lighter note, Aiza has mentioned she respect whatever Abs-Cbn’s management decision. She stated, “Pero it’s a directive galing sa management that I have to respect.” (But it’s a directive from the management that I have to respect.)
“I don’t hold any grudges against them (na) they have to do that.
“After all, this is a business, they have to protect their business.”
And to conclude, she has reiterated that, she doesn’t want to think of it is a form of punishment from the network, and doesn’t want to invite that idea in any ways.
