Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez – Richard Gutierrez took the country by storm when he re-emerged as a teen star in GMA shows. He was the most popular young male star of the network and was partnered with Chynna Ortaleza. The network needed a female star who can match Richard’s mass appeal. Angel Locsin was born. They were paired in the hit tv show Mulawin as the lead stars and starred in one of GMA’s films most successful movies, Let The Love Begin. Everything went smoothly and uphill until the network decided to separate them and build them as solo stars. Both of them starred in top rating series and played iconic Mars Ravelo characters Darna and Captain Barbel. In 2007, Angel Locsin transferred to the rival station. Angel is now happy with her career and fiance Luis Manzano while Richard is happy with Sarah Lahbati and their son, Zion.
We will still see loveteams sprout here and there. This phenomena will continue no matter what. Some will make it big and will end up together in real life while there are those who are best apart and would just leave us wishing they’d be together again one last time.
