Are low ratings the reason why GMA 7’s “Let the Love Begin” (LTLB) drama series is ending on August 8, 2015 after only three months on the air?
That’s the question on everyone’s mind after the Philippine Queen of Comedy Ai-Ai de las Alas posted a photo on Instagram of the LTLB cast and director Gina Alajar with the caption, “Last taping day of LTLB. I will miss you guys and Direk Gina. Happy set. See you soon and nice working with you guys. ‘Til our next project!”
Critics say the show has a low rating of 14.6% compared to its rival “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” (PSY) with a high 35.3% rating, according to Kantar Media. PSY also took the No. 2 spot in the Top 5 programs on local TV based on data released by AGB Nielsen last July 31, 2015. The No. 1 program was Eat Bulaga.
“Why is the drama series ending? It has just begun. This left me hanging, but the show is good. God bless,” said jemclasssy0102 on Instagram.
“Your teleserye is fun. My aunt here in United States loves to watch it. Everytime I arrive home from work, she would tell me that it is so beautiful and funny. Thank you! I’m looking forward to your next show. I love watching you on TV and my aunt is your No. 1 fan. Take care. Thank you,” she added.
To this, Ai-Ai answered,”That’s how it goes. The soap is only good for 13 episodes; it’s just good for one season. If it was a blocktimer aired in afternoon, it could extend.”
Aside from Ai-Ai, the Kapuso show is top billed by fast-rising love team Ruru Madrid and Gabbi Garcia. Completing the cast are Gardo Versoza, Donita Rose, Mark Anthony Fernandez, and Gladys Reyes.
