The makers of reality – based korean pop talent search KISPinoy announced on their facebook page that they will stop airing the show on TV5 starting August 1, 2015. This is because the Korean investors and producers of the show entered into grave financial difficulties making them unable to fund the show.
Though the show will cease airing on TV5, the reality based talent search will still continue offline. It will now rely on social media to connect with K-pop fans and K-pop hopefuls until they finish their first season.
KISPinoy on TV5 is produced by YU&IQ International Inc., in partnership with YU&IQ Korea and NH Media. YU&IQ International is also the investor for KISPinoy. They are also the company behind TV entertainment acts, Suh Young Hee and Lee Mun Sik.
NH Media on the other hand is a south korean record label and management company. They are the company that manages K-pop acts U-kiss, Lim Chang Jung, The Ray, Kim Jeong Siu and Labuom.
KISPinoy started airing on TV5 last July 11, 2015. The show is hosted by Richard Guitierez and korean model Jinri. To judge the Kpop hopefuls, TV5 handpicked Gelli De Belen, Rico Blanco and korean songwriter, Wong San Woo.
This is the announcement of the team behind KISPinoy on facebook about the stoppage of KISPinoy’s airing on TV5:
To our beloved KISPinoy hopefuls and K-Pop community,
Every beginning has an ending.
It is with great sadness that the TV programming of KISPinoy comes to an end. Starting tonight, you will no longer watch the KISPinoy episodes on TV5. This is because the management of YU&IQ International came into grave financial difficulties as a result of producing the show on television.
The costs took a toll on our Korean investors, and it was decided that the best option is to stop the TV airing of KISPinoy. Do not lose hope though, as will continue this journey off air. We are now coordinating with the hopefuls one by one.
Even though, KISPinoy will not air on TV, we will still be posting updates on our social media sites on the journey of our hopefuls. With your continued support, we will not stop to finalize our first season.
