Working on a project that deals sensitive issue is quite challenging. Just like the movie ‘Ex with Benefits’ from Star Cinema. On the first day the trailer is release, there are some negative reactions from the medical representatives community. Although the showed trailer is not the official trailer.
Starring Derek Ramsay and Coleen Garcia as the leading lady. It’s Coleen, first starring movie and she admitted she was feeling anxious and nervous. “I guess it is a mix of nervous and excited. I am nervous on how things are going to work out, but I am more excited. My excitement exceeding nervous, so I think it is a good thing,” Coleen shared.
She also gave her stand regarding the negative issues that she read over social media.
“I understand why they got offended. I’ve been reading some of the threads, because being well-informed with things like that before you promote the movie you will know and see how people will react. I really understand. The thing is, it is not a story about the doctor and the medical representatives (med rep). They may be a doctor and a med rep, but really it’s all about two ex-lovers coming back together and going through the ups and downs and it’s really about their story more than anything. It just so happened that they are a doctor and a med rep.”
Coleen also added that the story is more about her character ‘Arki’. How ‘Arki ‘ survive her past and be better person.
The focus of the story is on the life of the characters and not on the profession of actors. She further explained that not all med reps are in-love, because she hates generalization. She stressed that she doesn’t like generalizing people based on their profession or anything. She also believes that everyone is different. “We never see anything offensive in the movie because we know the whole story. I just pray that people will give it a chance before they judge it,” according to Coleen.
What Coleen said is true. Everybody should know the story before judging it. It goes with the sayings “Don’t judge the book with it’s cover” Better read it first before telling others what the content of the book.
When Coleen was ask, If exes are beneficial? She wittingly answered “Exes are beneficial because they give comfort of familiarity when you were still together. ”
