On a previous article posted here on Lionheartv.net, there have been a slight commotion from the regular TV viewers of A.S.A.P. 20 about the visible change in format of some of its segments.
To add up the hype, Martin Nievera posted on Twitter about a question on what is currently happening on the Sunday musical variety shows. That makes a trending topic on social media. He posted the question “What has happened to the noon time shows on Sunday?”
As per the said previous article, this may be the cause of the competing show, “Sunday PinaSaya” of the rival network GMA 7, when they introduced a format similar to daily noontime variety shows, but this time airing on a Sunday time slot. The objective of the said rival show is to give audience an “alternative option” instead of competing with the same format.
ASAP however, has already established its name and unbeaten record for its 20-year run in the Philippine TV history, with all of its rival shows of the same time slot has already gone off-air and reformatted. But with all surprise, ASAP has started to modify some of its segments into a live drama-comedy skit, similar to its rival show. Some netizens have expressed their comments about the sudden copying of ASAP from the other show pointing that it should have stick to its original format.
Is it goodbye to the word “musical”and make it solely just a variety show? To put on a list, here are 10 things that we used to love, and in our opinion, should stay in ASAP 20.
