Jodi Chrissie Garcia Santamaria or also known as Jodi Sta. Maria is a proud member of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic Circle Batch 7 who is now happy to her life with son Panfilo “Third” Lacson III and boyfriend Jolo Revilla. Sta. Maria has been part of the Showbiz Industry since she was 16 years old and she has been a valuable actress to 12 movies since 1998.
Before she became the “Amor Powers” in the remake of Pangako Sa’yo TV Series this year, let us go back to her other successful roles she has done in the past years in different TV Series!
1. Tabing Ilog: 1999 as George Fuentabella.
Jodi was paired to Baron Geisler during Tabing Ilog Days, a youth-oriented TV show that evolves about friendship and to continuously look for their life’s destination as one.
2. Pangako Sayo: 2005 as Lia Buenavista-Mobido
Jodi plays the role of the younger sister of Jericho which is the leading man of Kristine Hermosa in this primetime soap opera. Pangako Sayo had spanned over 486 episodes from 2000 to 2002, the second highest TV series next to Esperanza starred by Judy-Ann Santos.
3. Darating ang Umaga: 2003 as Nicole Del Fuego
A drama series with total number of 183 episodes for a short period of time from March 3, 2003 until November 14, 2003, this is all about a medallion that promises to bring a good fortune to a family until the next generations of the clan. Soon enough, greediness prevails and the medallion was broken into two parts and unexplainable bad luck has been continuously ruining the unity of the family.
4. Kampanerang Kuba: 2005 as Veronica Saavedra
Tagged as Pinoy Disney, Jodi played the role as the villain in Kampanerang Kuba that aired within 6 months specifically from June 6- December 16, 2005. As Veronica Saavedra to this fantasy soap opera, Veronica became jealous to Imang which is Anne Curtis for having a special attention to her mom and this scenario draws Veronica closer to her Aunt Lucia. At the end of the fantasy soap opera, Veronica was turned into a tree as a punishment for having too many mistakes and misdeeds.
5. Patayin Sa Sindak Si Barbara: 2008 as Ruth Martinez
A spoiled half-sister to Barbara (Kris Aquino) who fell in love with the same man as well as her sister’s love interest, Fritz was forced to married Ruth as she was always telling her sister that she will kill herself if she was not able to marry Fritz; the only man she would die for. Ruth killed herself right in front of her daughter due to paranoia that her husband will always and still love Barbara given the fact that they were married. Jodi played the role of Ruth as the villain who haunts and kills everyone that loves Barbara.
6. Palos: 2008 as Carmela Canavarro
A Loving wife to the main antagonist of Palos showed in 2008 Alessandro Canavarro (Jomari Yllana) blessed with a handsome son named Franco. Palos is nevertheless one of the biggest budgeted projects of ABS-CBN.
7. 100 Days to Heaven: 2011 as Tricia “Sophia Delgado” Manalastas
A kind-hearted woman adopted by a loving family ever since her mother gave her away, little did she know, she was the real daughter of Coney Reyes who plays the role of a selfish, greedy Madam Anna Manalastas. Sophia helped her mom to everyone who hates her, to be able to make up for every mistake she has done when she was still alive. 100 Days to Heaven has ended with a remarkable 38.7% rating by Kantar Media Data.
8. Mundo Man ay Magunaw: 2012-2014 as Young Olivia La Pena
Olivia La Pena is the main protagonist to this 2-year drama series in ABS-CBN, a mother of Sheryl (Empress Schuck) and Jenny (Nikki Gil) who later on was put on the prison for 20 years when she accidentally killed her own husband.
9. Be Careful With My Heart: 2012 as Maya dela Rosa-Lim
A daytime TV drama premiered from July 9, 2012 until November 28, 2014 before It’s Showtime; a noon-time show of ABS-CBN. Maya is just a simple girl from a very humble family who tried her luck to become a seafarer, upon arriving in Manila she find out her recruiter just swindled her to make her stuck in the city and to be jobless. Luckily, she came across with a wealthy widower Richard Lim (Richard Yap), the most influence in the airline industry asked her to be a temporary nanny in exchange of her help she’s been asking from Mr. Lim. As time goes by, they fell in love with each other, got married and happily run their charming family.
10. Pangako Sa’yo: 2015 as Amor de Jesus-Powers/Ms. Powers
Starred by Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Jodi Sta. Maria and Angelica Panganiban, a modern remake of the previous Pangako Sa’yo produced in 2005 where lives of the main casts are intertwined due to love, poverty, power and revenge. Luckily, after 10 years Jodi Sta. Maria got the role of Amor Powers since she has improved everyone in the industry her acting abilities. Jodi now plays one of the roles of protagonists of the TV drama series in which she is the mother of Ynamorata “Yna” Macaspac.
2015 is indeed the lucky year for Jodi Sta. Maria for being strong and responsible woman after her unsuccessful married life to her ex-husband Panfilo Lacson Jr. and for her current showbiz boyfriend got released from the hospital last summer for accidentally shot himself while cleaning his own gun inside of his room.
