GMA Network will finally give up its competition with “ASAP” for over 20 years.
From “GMA Supershow” to “SOP” to “Party Pilipinas” and to “Sunday All Stars,” GMA Network is known for their innovative, daring and bold moves when it comes to their programming. And now, the end for “Sunday All Stars” is near, I can’t help but reminisce the good old days of GMA Network. “Party Pilipinas,” among all other previous musical-variety shows, is almost perfect and it also managed to beat its counterpart on TV ratings, not just in Mega Manila but also nationwide.
The 2-decade long competition with ABS-CBN’s Sunday musical-variety show will be passed now to TAPE Inc., a blocktimer who also produces show like “The Ryzza Mae Show” and the longest-running noontime show “Eat Bulaga.”
As much as I want to give “Sunday Pinas Saya” an expectation at least, I began remembering TAPE Inc.’s former show “Diz Iz It” which became a ratings disaster which were a factor at the show’s cancellation.
For all Kapuso solid viewers out there, let’s just pray and hope that “Sunday Pinas Saya” will not be the next “Diz Iz It” or else… Just pray!
