On its 65th anniversary, GMA 7 held a thanksgiving celebration at SM MOA Arena last Sunday, July 26, as a way of giving back to fans for the latter’s undying support throughout the years.
The event was graced by the biggest stars of the network, artist, homegrown talents and respected news personalities.
GMA news achors thanked everyone who attended the fans day, Tonight with Arnold Clavio host said, “Thank you so much, you didn’t fail us. We’ve been together for 65 years, Kapuso.”
The Half Sisters actress Barbie Forteza showed appreciation, “[I’d like] to express my deepest gratitude to those who’ve been continuously supporting us over the years.”
STAR-STUDDED PRODUCTION NUMBERS
Sunday All Stars singers Jaya, Jonalyn Viray, Aicelle Santos, Francheska Farr, Rita Daniela and Kris Lawrence entertained the audience with their rendition of Aegis medley while Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez sang Eraserhead classic, Ang Huling El Bimbo.
Fans’ excitement grew even more when they spotted loveteams of their favorite afternoon and primetime shows- AnBie (Andre Paras & Barbie Forteza) of The Half-Sisters; KrisJoy (Kristoffer Martin & Joyce Ching) of Healing Hearts; GabRu (Gabbi Garcia & Ruru Madrid) of Let The Love Begin; BiGuel (Bianca Umali & Miguel Tanfelix) of Ismol Family; KimKo (Kim Rodriguez & Kiko Estrada) of My Mother’s Secret and JanElmo (Janine Gutierrez & Elmo Magalona).
The Richman’s Daughter Glaiza de Castro and Rhian Ramos created a scene when they’re caught nearly kissing but Luis Alandy went between them.
Supporters got wild upon seeing the on and off-screen royal couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, who is six months pregnant, together in a production number.
NEW SHOWS OFFERING!
Apart from the amazing performances of the artists, the thanksgiving event also paved the way to launch new/old loveteams that will topbill network’s new program shows to offer.
GMA-7 showcased the second TV adaptation of Mexicanovela Marimar on its teaser trailer featuring its main characters, Tom Rodriguez and Megan Young.
Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado proved that their love tandem still clicks among fans when the teaser trailer of My Faithful Husband was featured. Moreover, the audience screamed upon seeing the two singing the song ‘After All’.
The supporters also witnessed the love tandem of Jake Vargas and Julie Anne San Jose or commonly known as “JhaLie” which show “Buena Familia” premieres this afternoon.
The event’s touching moment happened when German “Kuya Germs”, who’ve been loyal to the network for 30 years, appeared for the first time onstage after he had recovered from mild stroke.
