Since “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” (PSY) first aired on May 25, 2015, the KathNiel love team has remained as strong as ever and unbeaten in terms of ratings. Not even the rival GabRu tandem could snatch its much-coveted crown.
Based on ratings gathered from July 15-22,2015, both in urban and rural areas, Kantar Media said PSY scored higher than “Let the Love Begin.” KathNiel’s top-billed drama series was also the No. 1 most watched program on July 23, 2015 with a 32.5% rating. GabRu only got half of that and ended up in 10th place.
‘Beautiful Strangers’ to replace ‘Let the Love Begin’
With “Let The Love Begin” going off the air soon, GMA 7 is hoping its new series “Beautiful Strangers” will put an end to the winning streak of the PSY remake. The show will be top billed by the two most respected actresses of this generation– Lovi Poe and Heart Evangelista. Also starring in the upcoming series are Rocco Nacino, Boyet de Leon, and Benjamin Alves. PhilStar reported that Lovie will portray an interior designer whilst Heart will take on the role of a plastic surgeon.
‘Exhausting’- Lovi on her role
When Lovi was asked how her current role differs from previous projects, she described it as “emotionally and physically exhausting.”
“It’s emotionally tiring because I cry a lot. It’s also physically tiring because I get bruises,” she added.
The Kapuso actress didn’t reveal the plot of the new series, but hinted that the title has something to do with it.
“Would you trust a stranger? That’s first thing viewers should figure out,” she said.
“Beautiful Strangers” premieres on August 10, 2015 on GMA 7’s prime time slot.
