ABS-CBN named Outstanding TV Station at 17th VACC Awards

ABS-CBN was recognized as the Outstanding TV Station for 2014-2015 by the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) at its 17th awards ceremony held at Camp Aguinaldo last Friday (July 3).

The awards were given on the 17th anniversary celebration of VACC, a non-profit organization that aims to fight crime and promote justice in the country. It holds an annual awards ceremony to recognize different entities for their commitment to eradicate criminality and corruption and assist crime victims.

VACC also honored broadcast journalist Henry Omaga-Diaz as Outstanding TV News Reporter while DZMM’s “Dos Por Dos,” hosted by Gerry Baja and Anthony Taberna, took home the Outstanding Teleradyo Program award. Meanwhile, DZMM’s Noel Alamar was named Outstanding Radio Reporter by the organization.

Special awards were also handed out to DZMM (Radio Station category), “Failon Ngayon” (Anti-Corruption Campaign), “SOCO” (Teleradyo Program), Dexter Ganibe (Radio Reporter), and Gus Abelgas (Television News Anchor). Atom Araullo, Jorge Carino, Jeck Batallones, Jeff Canoy, Ron Gagalac, Dominic Almelor, and Doland Castro were also given special citation for the Television Reporters category.
