I had a chance to review the phone. And for the bit of two days or less to enjoy it in my own hands, I have personally witnessed how ‘ambitious’ this phone as everybody else says it was.
Here are some points in my concise and sophisticated review of the great LG G4:
1. The lovely rear covers
The LG G4 is unique in its design. With its luxurious and environmentally-friendly hand-crafted full grain leather at the back cover, the smartphone bares uniqueness over-the-top. Other material options are the 3D-patterned Ceramic White, the artisan-forged Metallic Gray and the lustrous Shiny Gold.
2. The epic curve
While other smartphones are regularly flat and fully metal in its design, the LG G4 offers a new refreshing shift in the way we look at a smartphone. Aside from the unique rear covers, the LG G4 is in the Slim Arc design, which is highlighted in the smartphone’s body. The subtle curve, however, is not just an eye candy. The Slim Arc bids a more durable phone structure than any other flat smartphone in drops. Also, the epic curve gives a more comfortable and secure feel in the hand.
3. The sophisticated camera
LG G4’s camera is the best yet in the smartphone industry. When LG designed it with the 16-megapixel rear camera, they did not forget about improving the aperture lens to capture even more stunning images amidst poor lighting conditions. For the first time in the smartphone industry, the camera features a wide F1.8 aperture lens – which means that it allows 80 percent more light to reach the sensor. For the professional photographers who understands this much, this is an ambitious breakthrough!
Furthermore, LG G4 improved the low-light capturing condition with the OIS 2.0, which expands the range of image stabilization. Aside from the two degree (x and y) range, the LG G4 adds a third axis (z) stabilization for the first time.
To add a more sophisticated feature, the LG G4’s Manual Mode allows the practiced photographers to freely explore photography in a DLSR by controlling the focus, shutter speed, ISO, exposure compensation and white balance for every shot. Also, photos can be saved in RAW format for more defined editing with no loss of details.
4. What you see is what you get with LG G4’s CSS (Color Spectrum Sensor)
LG found its way to get way over the top above other smartphones by complementing the LG G4’s camera with CSS (Color Spectrum Sensor), which improves the color accuracy of every shot, promising that what colors you see with your own eyes, you will see on LG G4’s epic photos!
5. Don’t forget the SELFIE camera
Today, when almost all people love to take selfies, the preference for a greater selfie camera also mounts up. With the LG G4’s industry-top 8-megapixel front camera, a promise of a sharper and better selfies and even “group-fies” is guaranteed. Take a look at my selfie with my classmates!
6. Display like no other
Great cameras need great displays. So to go along with the LG G4’s magnificent camera, the smartphone is the first to use the LG Display’s new 5.5-inch IPS Quantum Display. The specific display offers 20 percent greater color reproduction, 25 percent improvement in brightness and 50 percent greater contrast, which is calibrated for the high-end color expression standards of the DCI (Digital Cinema Initiatives) supported by top Hollywood studios. Now, where else would we find such greatness?
7. The long run of its battery
Expecting that the LG G4’s battery to give up so easily because of its higher quality display, yours truly judged so easily. The LG G4 is equipped with a high-capacity 3,000mAh removable battery. Yes, you read it right. The high-end phone is equipped with a “removable” battery, which I think right now is an uncommon feature of some of today’s top smartphones. With that, I have developed a unique passion for the G4!
8. The ever-dependable Smart Bulletin and the Smart Notice
With the Smart Bulletin, I can easily observe my immediate smartphone concerns, obviously just a left swipe from the home screen. The Smart Notice tab houses specific needs such as the Calendar, Music, Health, G4 Tips and others, resulting in a more user-friendly approach from the smartphone itself.
At first, I am worried of what the Smart Notice can do. But when I started to explore deeper in its functions, I started to enjoy its smart and interactive interface. With the Smart Notice, I have been more productive in life as it helped me with personalized recommendations on travel and weather, even just for two days.
9. The improved gallery
The gallery is improved with the redesigned look that easily organizes photos according on time and location. It also includes a search-by-date function. To personalize the user’s experience, a reminder can also be placed on parts of the gallery to improve browsing.
10. The remarkable Event Pocket
Along with the sophistication of LG G4, from its camera to the improved gallery, comes the amazing Event Pocket. The feature easily organizes events right into the calendar through a drag and drop maneuver, not to mention that it can also provide suggestions for venues and agendas based on the information provided by the user. For busy persons who have so much to organize, this is an extending hand to carry you on!

Perhaps, 2 days is not enough to discover how ambitious and great this smartphone is. After experiencing the LG G4, I have settled in the sense of comfort that it has given me for the short time that it was in my possession.
Again, I had a chance to review the phone. And to rate how great it is, I’d like to steal a bit of Baymax’s programmed lines… (LOL)
“In a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your LG G4 experience?”
And preposterously, I’d say 35. (If not for the number 10 limit!)
