Even if she had successful shows on ABS-CBN, and is a mainstay in the daytime series ‘Oh My G!’, Kapamilya actress Sunshine Cruz admitted that she received an offer from GMA-7 and declined. This was during the time she nodded to appear in the previously mentioned show with Janella Salvador as the lead star.
“Maganda ang show namin. Mataas naman so far ang rating ng show, (The show is great and is doing well in its rating,)” Cruz said.
In the series, she is Janella’s aunt, the wife of Dominic Ochoa’s character, and the sister of Maricar Reyes’s short role.
“Maganda yung role ko kasi ‘di ba from OA-yan, nakakaawa na ako. So, marami pa’ng dapat abangan kung ano ang mangyayari kay Lucy. (I love my role. From OA type, this time I am the pitiful Lucy, watch out what will happen to her),” she added.
In an interview recently with entertainment site, PEP.ph, she said that she’s happy with the turnout of her showbiz career. She also appeared in previous ABS-CBN shows such as ‘Galema’ and ‘Dugong Buhay’.
With what’s happening now, she is grateful for having an acting career, despite the struggles she experienced during her separation from her former husband, Cesar Montano.
Also, she has a special appearance in Star Cinema’s ‘Just The Way You Are’, which is directed by Theodore Boborol and will be shown in theatres on June 17. It’s also the first movie team-up of Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano from the recently-concluded hit TV series, ‘Forevermore’.
“Naka-tatlong shooting days din ako sa movie. Nanay ako ni Enrique at asawa ko si Tonton Gutierrez. (I already had three shooting days for the film. My role is Enrique’s mom and Tonton Gutierrez’s wife),” she shared.
