GMA Network, the Philippines most awarded TV network has once again proven it’s strength in the international global arena.
The network is not only reaping success financially but also making waves not just locally but internationally making it this year’s biggest winner at the recently concluded 2015 US International Film & Video Festivals bringing home 7 medals and 13 certificates for its News and Entertainment programs.
The US International Film & Video Festivals is one of the most respected award giving bodies since since 1967. Recognizing the excellence in relation to Education, Corporate, Documentary and Entertainment.
One of 2014’s most successful and talked anout drama series Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real received a Silver medal for the Telenovela category and the weekend musical variety show Sunday All Stars for Entertainment Variety program.
News programs also shone bright earning gold medals. Front Row bagged the top award for the Documentary category. Featuring ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) digging deeper in the rationale behind the infamous Ice Bucket Challenge. The award winning episode also won other international awards including the prestigious New York Festivals 2015.
GMA Network’s flagship newscast 24 Oras earned a Silver medal for it’s Typhoon Mario last 2014 and another silver medal for their coverage for the Typhoon Yolanda under the Current Affairs category.
GMA News TV’s award winning shows Brigada and I-Juander each received a Silver Screen Award for the categories of Environment/Ecology and Social Issues, respectively.
Other big winners are some of the best News and Public Affairs programs. Still proving that it is the Philippine TV’s finest hour, I-Witness scored another international award and considered as the Pop Culture Lifestyle TV show of the Philippines Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho wins big as well. Tunay na Buhay, Investigative Documentaries, Reel Time and Pop Talk, 24 Oras Weekend, State of the Nation and Balita Pilipinas Ngayon, as well as the mini series Sa Puso ni Dok starting Dennis Trillo and Illustrado starring Alden Richards and the GMA News TV Station ID were awarded as well.
Another triumph for GMA Network, another victory for the Filipino people. This is definitely something all Filipinos around the world can be proud of.
