She is known to be the voice of the Aquino clan. When no one else is to comment, she always does. Everyone is excited to hear or read, whatever her opinion to every issue her family involves with. Her life is an open book (self-claimed). We hate her but most of the time, we love her. That is KRIS AQUINO, the Queen of all Media.
The country stood by when we first heard that Mary Jane Veloso, a fellow Filipino, who accused of drug trafficking in Indonesia, will about to face the darkest hour of her life. Convicted five years ago, everyone moved by the story of this OFW. We cannot question the other countries’ law, but we can do something about to save the life of Mary Jane. Everybody joined hands and set aside differences to pray for a “last minute miracle” to spare the life of this girl from execution. April 29, 2015, she was scheduled to face the firing squad, together with eight more convicted drug smugglers. President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino appealed to the Indonesian government even in the last minute of the execution, and he pardoned. Mary Jane’s execution has been postponed.
Yesterday, April 29, the much-awaited opinion was posted on the Instagram. Kris Aquino finally speaks up her viewpoint to the situation.
Here is her post:
“I kept quite & just prayed. Left & right paulit ulit na walang ginawa, walang effort, walang malasakit, patalsikin, walang nagawa si Noynoy. (Thank you Manila Bulletin for the accurate front page.) Our whole family prayed, of course for Mary jane and her family, but I prayed deeply for the Holy Spirit to guide my brother & his government to find a way to spare the life of a fellow Filipino. To find a reason compelling enough for the Indonesian govt to give Mary Jane Veloso a reprieve, and it came because of testimony regarding the greater problem of HUMAN TRAFFICKING. I prayed for God to bless our relations w/ Indonesia…Australia, Brazil, Nigeria, and even an Indonesian died by firing squad. From the New York Times I quote: “Saying Indonesia had a right to exercise its drug laws, Mr Joko’s govt rejected international pleas to cancel the executions, including from Ban Ki Moon, Secretary general fo the United Nations.” I firmly believe that we must respect the laws of each country, and as Filipinos we will take offense when other countries will dictate upon us…But we are God fearing, faithful nation. And He heard our collective prayer. And I kept quiet w/ the endless attacks against PNoy because that was his reminder to me, but today it is my right & my privilege to say, I AM PROUD of my brother. I AM PROUD OF MY PRESIDENT.”
