Nietes, who recently made boxing buzz after surpassing the late great Gabriel “Flash” Elorde’s record as the longest-reigning Filipino world champion for more than seven years, will defend his title against Mexico’s Gilberto “Parrita” Parra with a record of 19 wins, and 2 losses with 17 victories by knockout. Both flaming fighters will go head-to-head for the vacant WBC North America Boxing Federation (NABF) Super Bantamweight championship. The 32 year-old Donaire, who was born in Talibon, Bohol (Visayas Philippines) and currently resides in California, U.S.A., stands 5’5½”, and has a reach of 68” or 173 centimeters.
