According to the Top 500 Individual Taxpayers list released by the BIR for the year 2013, Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao is the highest paid celebrity for that year. Manny topped the list with a total of P163,841,853 income taxes paid, higher than some of the most high-profile businessmen like Megaworld Corporation Founder and Chairman Andrew Tan, Meralco President Oscar Reyes (P 51,440,314.00) and Mercury Drug President Vivian Que Azcona (P 51,617,174.69).
Next to Manny are Kapamilya actors Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz, Kris Aquino and Sharon Cuneta who came in second to fifth spot on top celebrity individual taxpayers. Some of notable Kapuso stars on the top list are Vic Sotto P22.40M, Michael V. (Bitoy) P17.01M and Dingdong Dantes P15.72M.
Marian Rivera, who occupied 261st place in 2009 and 67th spot in 2010, failed to break in to the 2013 list. Marian Rivera was 62nd in 2009 and 86th in 2010.
The BIR’s lists were based on regular income taxes paid.
