Hands were raised in warm applause, hearts & feet pounding in sync; lips were opened, singing the rock tunes in a piercing rhyme, Dang! The Pinoy audience inside the vibrant arena does knew and love their songs. And as my pair of wandering eyes wonder at those sea of screaming peeps, certainly this is one night that would be hard to forget.
The night of March 13, that was..
The highly known metallic rock band from California, INCUBUS, went back in town to amuse their Filipino fans anew. Stronger their power and musical charm this time as witnessed in their well-attended concert in Mall of Asia Arena. Their cult of following seems to grew bigger in number, general patronage seats were filled as well as the more expensive VIP’s. I could hardly count empty chairs in the full house seating capacity of 20K. Tickets, quite headshaking in digits were sold like a hotcake. Whew! that was something grand these days, when people are supposed to be belt-tightening! But the heck, great show comes with a great price. (who said Pinoys are poor?)
Primed to give their 101 percent best
The event, as expected, was simply INCREDIBLE. It awakens even the sleepiest of souls, and gloomiest of spirits in a snap, sending a chill up someone’s spine in a spell. The powerful vocals and technical agility of their moves and instruments have never wavered, gets better even, giving them the notorious distinction as one of of the smartest band in its genre, but has many notches above the rest.
ALL IN THE ROCKING FORM
The lighting and backdrop-effect was nothing short of a volcano in tantamount to their animated moves. It roared ahead at a ferocious pace to practically pull and eager the teeming crowd. I sighted local celebrities and clans of bourgeoisie benting their lungs out in gusto’. The heck to their breeding and stars, they hit the concert floor to be a fan and to party with Incubus tonight.
More of Incubus
As the spectators basked in the afterglow of the concert’s magic when the lights faded and the music stopped, there were a howl of protest begging the band to perform some more – and they just did with equal charm & energy.
SideNote: For a very successful and ultra-organized event, Good job Ovation team Productions. Thanks to the wonderful PR of Ms. Grace Foronda & S’ MC Paglicawan of LionhearTV for my invite.
