February 14, 2015 (Quezon City, Philippines) – After much clamor from global denizens, Filipinos in North America can now witness the excitement behind “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” as The Filipino Channel (TFC) brings the Philippine version of the successful worldwide franchise to U.S. and Canada.
Launched this week with ratings that beat its rival program in the Philippines and which earned remarkable views online via TFC’s official online service, TFC.tv, “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” is the newest version of the worldwide franchise which brings together contestants who will be given the opportunity to make the deal of their lives. For the first time in “Deal or No Deal” franchises around the world, the 24K girls have been replaced by celebrities or stars who can also trade in their briefcases. The contestant of the day will be chosen via spin of a roulette called Gulong ng Tala and then will be given the chance to choose a case that will change their future.
The celebrity contestants include sexy stars Yam Concepcion and Nina Jose; beauty queens Melanie Marquez and Bianca Manalo; “PBB” alumni Matt Evans and Karen Reyes; comedians Long Mejia, Eric Nicolas, Bonito and Ryan Bang; character actors Rez Cortes and Baron Geisler; showbiz royalties Epy Quizon, Ramon Christopher Guttierez, Arlene Muhlach, and Gabi Concepcion; youtube sensation Donnalyn Bartolome and heartthrobs Dominic Roque, Markki Stroem and Arron Villaflor.
Out to sway the Kapamilya stars to succumb to his offers of money, the iconic Banker still makes his presence felt with his signature coat, phone gadget, and undisclosed identity.
During the first episode, Villaflor chose a briefcase which amounted to Php 50,000 but made the right choice in accepting Banker’s offer worth Php 180,000. Concepcion on the other hand, played on the second day and unknowingly chose a case that contained Php 1, earning her the tag Pisonaryo. Third player Evans held on to his case to the end and got Php 100,000. Cortez meantime, earned the most from the show so far, taking home Php 450,000 after taking Banker’s offer. Bartolome came in with the second highest as she got Php 300,000.
Witness celebrities help open the briefcases that will change the lives of fellow celebrities on “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” Mondays to Fridays on TFC worldwide (Tuesdays to Saturdays Australia Daylight Savings Time [ADST], New Zealand Standard Time [NZST], Japan and Guam Time). Viewers can catch the exciting and fun episodes of the game show via TFC’s official online service, TFC.tv right after its Philippine airing or via its video-on-demand or VOD (Internet Protocol television or IPTV) service available in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.
