Meet Reuby: Singapore’s “accidental” I-tune sensation

Reuby’s sudden popularity in the mainstream is not far from the tales of many singing Pinoys whose head-shaking clip turned viral online. His discovery begun after giving an instrument accompaniment & vocal back-up to a good friend who made an audition vid.

In the turn of event, and as he is destined to, his skills stood out, his name picked up, and eventually landed him a contract with Warner Music SG, the record label whom his friend sent the piece.

At the moment, he is being groomed as one of the most interesting artist in their roster to hit the airwaves and conquer the international concert arena soon.

What sets him apart?

The 18 year old has been home-schooled prior to joining a University. He knew what he wants in his music career and what he should work on to make those “wants” happen. 

Thus, from honing his english comm skill (as apparent to his fluency &  effectiveness in speaking the 2nd language with ease), from polishing his ability in playing the  guitar and the piano. (The first being self-taught while the second as influenced by his piano teacher mom), from learning how to write good songs and bring the rightful melody to it, Dang! theboy can obviously do a one man show.

He has lots of characters and displayed a genius for such, all stems from his childhood and love for the craft. Plus, he has a radiant voice that, youthful charm and an infecting smile carries by flawless face, and friendly demeanor.  That’s Reuben for you. Even with just a little time, he is gratefulto have found new fans &  fellow in Manila that he visited the first time, – he quoted ” I can’t  wait for the next stop”.
