When we wed, we want it to be perfect. We want our love ones to be there to witness our union with the person we love. And walking down the aisle is one walk that we want to be remembered.
Traditionally, parents should be there to give your hand to the man you will spend the rest of your life with. But how would you feel is none of them didn’t make it on that very important walk of your life?
On February 15, 2015, actress Heart Evangelista and Senator Chiz Escudero exchanged vows to love and unite their hearts as one in Balesin Island Club in Quezon province. Witnessed only by closest friends and relatives, the entourage were a picture of elegance and sophistication.
But the room reserved for bride’s parent remained empty until the last minute. Eventually, as resilient as Heart is, the wedding must go on. Resigned for the hope that mom and dad will not show up anymore, stood bravely, Heart walked the aisle alone looking radiant and stunning.
Unbeknownst to Heart, her sisters, Camille, Michelle and Lissa is holding a big surprise. Absent he is, but no Dad can resist extending his love to his daughter on her special day. Only in a form of a letter.
Mr. Reynaldo Ongpauco writes, “Alam mo, anak, gustong-gusto kita ihatid sa altar. Sino ba naman ang ama ang ayaw makita ang anak sa pinakaimportanteng araw ng buhay niya? A lot of things happened that hindered us from going. This is my promise: When the day comes that I see both of you truly happy, when I see Chiz loving you the way you deserve to be loved, I will come knocking on your door.”
Until this day, Heart is very hopeful that the truce between her and her mom will end soon.
