Thousand of fans of the popular independent band Boyce Avenue filled Smart Araneta Coliseum on the night of Valentine’s day. Even if it was already the band’s fourth time to perform in the country, fans still couldn’t get enough of these artists.
The group composed of talented and brainy Manzano brothers Alejandro, Fabian, and Daniel became known internationally for their awesome acoustic covers they uploaded on YouTube. With more than 6 million followers on their YouTube channel, the Boyce Avenue eventually became the most popular independent band in the world. Locally, these boys are the most streamed international artist.
The success of their Valentine’s day concert in Manila presented by Ovation Productions this 2015 only proved their ability to capture the hearts of Pinoy fans.
With an arena as vast as the Big Dome, almost filling up a venue with a seating capacity of 15,000 is a clear proof how much Pinoys adore them. In fact, the band’s lead vocals Alejandro announced that it was officially “the biggest show we have ever played among the headline shows that we’ve had.”
As the boys performed their hit cover songs on stage, their distinct tone and one-of-a-kind take on the popular songs drove the crowd wild. The band definitely owned the songs and proved that they’re not just another cover band.
More than the cover songs they performed, the band’s original songs including Find Me, Speed Limit, On My Way, and Every Breath uncovered the depth of Boyce Avenue. Although they rose to fame for giving unique renditions of popular songs, the band was even more loved by the world particularly their Filipino fans for the songs they created.
During the concert, Boyce Avenue also showed their awesome ability to connect with their audience. Sharing a story on almost every song, Alejandro certainly knew how to give a show their Pinoy fans deserve.
Valentine’s day wouldn’t be complete without a sweet gesture from the boys. This is something that the American band did when they called up a female fan on stage to take a selfie with them. Of course, this awesome act sent all the single ladies in the crowd crazy. Indeed, choosing to spend Valentine’s day with them was worth it.
In almost all concerts, Pinoys always ask for more songs and Boyce Avenue granted their fans’ wish. After their 15-song set, the boys returned to serenade their fans with Broken Angel, Kings of Leon’s Use Somebody, and Every Breath.
With happy and satisfied fans after their Big Dome performance, we are certain that Boyce Avenue will be returning to Manila very soon.
