Fans have a huge impact for trending issues. They can easily create a topic and sometimes, it is ended up a fight between two groups. But most of all, celebrities bear the result.
When the Philippine Sweetheart Anne Curtis performed on The Voice of the Philippines, fans immediately asked for Lea Salonga’s opinion on Twitter. And the former Miss Saigon star straightforwardly reply “She’s still not a singer (which she admits openly). But her intonation is improving.”
There the bashing started. Again. Here are some tweets addressed to Coach Lea:
“If only Lea were more humble, nicer, and not a total b**ch, she’d get to fill Araneta as well.”
“Hey Lea, who do u think u are to say that to Anne? pls know ur limits. u r a the voice coach, not Anne’s coach so know ur limits okay? she may not be as good as you but shes richer and classier than u. so know when to speak and who to speak to.”
“Epal siya. Spell ANGAS? Sakyan ba ang kasikatan ni Anne? Many dislike her not because she’s honest, it’s because she’s so full of herself.”
“Out of all the leading ladies on Broadway and the West End, siya lang ang nega ang image. May rason kung bakit. Huwag ng ideny.”
And of course, Lea’s supporters are to the rescue. Some of the answers are:
“She has every right to point that out.”
“Opinion nya yun eh and mabuti yun para matauhan si Anne. Besides totoo naman sinabi nya diba? And she doesn’t need to fill Araneta dahil she was able to fill musical theatres abroad, where the audience have good taste & have class.”
“Nothing wrong with her answer. I dont get it why people in this country hates a celebrity who is honest. Tapos they bash those who are plastic. Saan sila lulugar?”
“There is no comparison. You don’t compare a boses-palaka and boses lata to a golden voice. That’s what Anne’s fan should realize.”
Anne Curtis never said a word about this. Not just yet. But knowing her as one of the very true person in showbiz, and in fact, she perfectly knows her stand when it comes to singing, I’m sure she would not feel happy if fans are fighting. Let’s nip in a bud!
