How the eight MMFF 2014 entries fared during Christmas Day opening

The official entry of Star Cinema to the currently held Metro Manila Film Festival 2014 sets a new first day record in box office sales.

Star Cinema’s two entries, ‘The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” and “Feng Shui 2″ figured in the top list of highest-earning movies on the first day of the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). According to the figures released by MMDA, ” the overall Christmas Day box office sales racked up almost ₱140 million, outgrossing by around P12 million last year’s first-day take of P128 million.

Although MMDA did not yet release the official numbers, here’s how the eight entries fared during the opening yesterday:

1. The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin
2. Feng Shui 2
3. My Big Bossing
4. Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles
5. English Only, Please
6. Shake, Rattle & Roll XV
7. Bonifacio: Unang Pangulo
8. Magnum .357

2014 MMFF first day gross

The awards night of the 40th MMFF will be held on Saturday, December 27. Entries to the film fest will run in theaters until January 7, 2015.
