It has been a year ago since the disaster and heartbreaking phenomena named “Yolanda” hit Tacloban City. Lives and economy were affected badly. The question now is, how are they coping after 12 months?
Needless to say, the place need quite a sum of money to fully recover – like rebuilding of schools, livestock, agriculture and the church. More people still coming in donating and offering help. Others even held concerts for benefits to extend help to this devastated side of the country.
And as part of solemnity remembering those we lost on that fateful day and of healing for the citizens of the city, Tacloban is one of the grateful city(out of 11 venues) to be visited by Holiness Pope Francis during his 5-day visit in the Philippines. One of the on-going talks right now, whether Rico Blanco is the chosen one to sing during the Pope’s visit in the said city.
According to Rico Blanco, he doesn’t know the details yet but he felt grateful to be considered. He just heard that the papal visit committee is interested in having him there. Hailed from Leyte and was once played during World Youth Day on 1990, it will be truly meaningful to him if this will be pushed through.
Rico had just finished performing alongside Yeng Constatino and Gloc-9 on their jam-packed ICON concert last November 21 and he is also the brand ambassador for Giordano Philippines.
