Janine Gutierrez and Elmo Magalona’s primetime debut as loveteam kicked-off its pilot episode on Monday night, November 17 with high ratings.
Based on the Mega Manila overnight ratings gathered by the more widely recognized TV ratings supplier, Nielsen TV Audience Measurement, “More Than Words” marked a household rating of 21.6% and ruled over its counterpart program “Hawak Kamay” which only garnered 19.1%.
“More Than Words” stars Janine Gutierrez and Elmo Magalona, the widely embraced Kapuso love team that will once again captivate the audience, following the hit remake of “Villa Quintana.” Putting Janine in a new light is her portrayal of Ikay, a girl taunted as a weirdo at school because of her unique looks and constant daydreaming and spacing out most of the time. She finds solace in writing fiction online, creating the character of Katy Perez in her work titled Diary of a Queen Bee.
“More Than Words”’s first episode also became a trending topic in the Philippines in the micro-blogging site Twitter with the hashtag #MoreThanWords. Janine’s character, Ikay, made it on the list of worldwide trending topics on twitter.
