Hannah Espia’s directorial debut “Transit” received the most number of trophies at the 11th Golden Screen Awards for Movies. “Transit” won a total of nine awards, including Best Director for Espia, Best Picture, Best Cinematography, Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress for Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Breakthrough Performance of an Actor for Marc Justine Alvarez. “Transit” was also selected as the country’s official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 86th Academy Awards.
Another big winner at this year’s Golden Screen Awards for Movies is Star Cinema and Reality Entertainment’s “On The Job” top billed by Joey Marquez, Gerald Anderson, Piolo Pascual and Joel Torre. The action thriller won Best Visual Effects, Best Original Story for director Erik Matti and gave Joel Torre another Best Actor trophy.
Enpress also gave this year’s Gawad Lino Brocka Lifetime Achievement Award to seasoned actress, Susan Roces.
The 11th Golden Screen Awards was held on October 4 (Saturday night) at Teatrino in Greenhills, San Juan andwas organized by the Entertainment Press Society (Enpress) to honor the outstanding films and movie performances of the past year.
