McDonald’s Philippines President and CEO Kenneth Yang accepted the challenge from Megaworld chair Andrew Tan’s ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and posted a video Tuesday, August 26, on YouTube. Aside from donating to ALS and Ronald McDonald House Charities, Kenneth Yang also enlisted the help of Ronald McDonald to pour ice water over him.
The ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) Association is behind the ice bucket challenge. The challenge has been taken up by celebrities, political and business figures all over the world, raising over $70 million since July 29. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells and pathways in the brain and spinal cord, which eventually leads to paralysis.
