In a report by Cata Tibayan on “24 Oras” on Tuesday, GMA Network already found new kids to portray the roles of Tomtom, Ding, Joselyn at Eliza on their new offering “Yagit.”
Judie dela Cruz will play the role of Jocelyn; 8-year-old JM Andres as Ding; Jemwell Ventinilla as Tomtom; and Chlaui Malayao, as Eliza. These four kids will also be network’s new generation of young stars.
“Yagit” is a remake of Leroy Salvador’s “Mga Batang Yagit” (1984), about poor children scavenging for garbage and the twists and turns of their lives. It’s about the sort of friendship, pure and beautiful, that somehow paves the rocky and pothole-filled roads of life. I thought then, as I still think now, that with the kind of friendship Elisa, Tomtom, Jocelyn and Ding had, you could never lose hope in life.
