Janice is one of the Top 4 of the competition placing third behind winner Mitoy Yonting and runner-up Klarisse De Guzman. A four-chair turner during her Blind Auditions, she eventually chose international rapper Apl.de.Ap as her Coach who mentored her all the way to the finals. Janice looks up to Whitney Houston as a singer. Locally, she picks Lani Misalucha, Ella May Saison and Jaya Ramsey.
Janice’s life has always been filled with music. Her dad, the second-generation Hotdog keyboardist Rolando Javier, nurtured her interest and trained her to become a better vocalist. She already did music professionally during her entire high school years as a multiplex, commercial jingle singer, and then as a back-up singer for various clients and bands. Despite her initial fears and insecurities, the support of the fans keeps her going and pushes her to improve more.
She releases her self-titled debut album which showcases her power, soul and R&B range. It features the carrier single “Never Knew Love (Until I Met You)” written especially for her by Dutch composers Tjeerd van Zanen and Natasja den Toom.
“Janice Javier” also includes her original song and collaboration with her coach Apl.de.Ap for “Breathe” as well as her covers of “Why Can’t It Be?”, “Heaven Knows”, “Dust In The Wind”, “I Believe I Can Fly”. Also in the album are her recorded versions from her The Voice of the Philippines performance like “Greatest Love of All”, “Coming Home”, “Chain of Fools” and “Imagine”. Her take on “Starting Over Again” which was used in the promotional trailer of the same top-grossing movie is here as bonus track.
Janice’s self-titled album is now out via digital download on spinnr.ph and iTunes, and via streaming on Deezer and Spotify.
Alongside the release of her self-titled debut album, which showcases her vocal power, range and brand of R&B, Janice Javier (photo) is set to stage her first solo concert which is titled The Voice of Janice Javier: Live in Concert on July 4, 8:00 p.m., at the Teatrino in Greenhills. Joining Janice as special guest is fellow “The Voice of the Philippines” finalist Myk Perez. Tickets are available at P1,000 each via Ticketworld.
