Angeli Bayani and Joel Torre brought home the Best Actress and Best Actor trophies, respectively in the 37th Gawad Urian 2014 on Tuesday, June 17, held at the Dolphy Theater, ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City.
Angeli, who won for her movie ‘Norte Hangganan ng Kasaysayan’ came to beat the likes of
Nora Aunor (Ang Kuwento ni Mabuti), Vilma Santos (Ekstra), Cherie Gil (Sonata), Eugene Domingo (Instant Mommy), Lorna Tolentino (Burgos), and others for the award while Joel outshined 10 others including Mark Gil (A Philipino Story), Sid Lucero (Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan) and brothers Ping Medina (Transit) and Alex Medina (Babagwa).
