This is kinda old and I haven’t seen any part of this movie. Leroy Salvador’s “Mga Batang Yagit” (1984) is more than just about poor children scavenging for garbage and the twists and turns of their lives. It’s about the sort of friendship, pure and beautiful, that somehow paves the rocky and pothole-filled roads of life. I thought then, as I still think now, that with the kind of friendship Elisa, Tomtom, Jocelyn and Ding had, you could never lose hope in life.
“Mga Batang Yagit” stars Dindo Fernando, Amy Austria, Beth Bautista, Bella Flores, Jay Ilagan, Bembol Roco, Rowell Santiago, Jaypee De Guzman, Jocelyn Dela Cruz, Janet Elisa Giron, Tom-Tom and now ABS-CBN’s president ang the most powerful woman on Philippine TV Charo Santos-Concio.
I can’t find more about this movie but other than Leroy Salvador as the director and Orlando Nadres as the writer, “Mga Batang Yagit” is under the production of Viva Films. According to some news, GMA Network’s remake version will be under the helm of “Villa Quintana” director Gina Alajar.
This “Mga Batang Yagit” project is maybe under the planning stage or still for pitching. I don’t know. All I know is this TV project in production, the titles, cast and directors are subjected to change. There is also a possibility that some of these projects might be shelved and pushed back for a later release date or even totally be canceled.
