(QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES) April 21, 2014 – Ease your minds, lift your hearts, and unburden your souls through the powerful and heartwarming stories and experiences shared by two of God’s instruments of inspiration on television: singer Fatima Soriano and Fr. Jerome Marquez, SVD in “Light Moments” on DZMM 630 and DZMM Teleradyo via The Filipino Channel (TFC) and its official online service TFC.tv, Saturdays 3 p.m. London time and 11 p.m. Tokyo time and Sundays 12 m.n. Sydney time.
Born-blind, the twenty-year-old Soriano, who made the song “God Bless You, Mama Mary Loves You” a household hit among Filipinos in the Philippines, officially joined Mega Manila’s number one AM radio station (based on Kantar Media / TNS ratings) recently and is now the youngest anchor to grace Philippine radio. The young speaker who has been inspiring people since she was a child, is known for her unwavering faith to the Lord and has travelled to different provinces in the Philippines and around the world to touch the lives of our kababayans. “With Light Moments,” she will continuously spread the good news of the Lord and inspire our Kapamilyas.
“The simple concept of ‘Light Moments’ (as its title conveys) is ‘light,’ for people to unburden and welcome God back into their hearts. It is something to make them smile, give them hope, and to remind them that there is a God who loves them,” said Soriano. “Wherever they are, we want to bring God to them as we bring them closer to God,” she added.
Soriano has gone through struggles in life that strengthened her faith in God. At age nine, she was diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure that forced her to undergo dialysis five times a day.
“I found God in the midst of trials, in pain and in suffering. It is such a big inspiration for me to continue what I am doing and to be an instrument to pass on the Lord’s love, joy, and peace to people in need,” expressed Soriano.
On the other hand, Fr. Marquez aims to continuously remind listeners and viewers that God is always present in everything they are going through via “Light Moments.”
“As a priest and missionary, I feel the need of people, their hunger and thirst for the words of our Lord. How we get the message out there is a constant challenge. In the program, we are going to give what people are looking for,” said Fr. Marquez.
A Canon lawyer (responsible in protecting Catholics’ rights and explaining their duties) and the parish priest of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Kamuning, Quezon City, Fr. Marquez admitted his faith is constantly tested even though he has served God all his life.
“I lived for three years on the Smokey Mountain in Manila. We set up a foundation for those who did not finish school. My experience in leading communities, providing them the education, faith, and the word of the Lord – they are the ones that give me inspiration,” he revealed.
Let your souls be filled with the words of Lord and tune in to “Light Moments” with Fatima Soriano and Fr. Jerome Marquez on DZMM 630 and DZMM Teleradyo via TFC and via TFC.tv worldwide (Saturday at 3 p.m. London time and 11 p.m. Tokyo time and Sundays at 12 m.n. Sydney time). Filipinos in North America can also listen to “Light Moments” via audio streaming, Fridays at 7 a.m. Pacific time. Connect with fellow Kapamilyas worldwide on www.facebook.com/KapamilyaTFC
